INTRODUCTION TO BEAD MAKING





What is bead making?
Before we look into bead making we need to first know what bead is and what is making.

What is bead?
Bead is a small decorative object formed in various shapes and size. Beads are formed from different materials such as wood, shell, stone, glass, plastic, crystal and so on. Each bead is named according to the materials it’s made of. For example we have we the stone bead which is made of stone and the wooden bead which is made of wood, also the plastic bead which is the most popular of all beads and it has different types, shapes and names like: rice bead, round bead and so on. 

Now what is making?
Making is the act of producing something. So with this we can say bead making is the act of producing or making something with beads.

What can we produce with beads?
With beads we can produce beautiful jewelries like necklace of different styles, beautiful hand bracelets, beautiful earrings. We can also produce with beads: bags of different types, purse, men wallet, flower verse, fruit plate, table mat, foot mat, walking stick, slippers palm, shoe, crown, traditional dress, frame work such as (drawing with beads) and many other things can be done with beads. Bead is very wide, new things are discovered every day. Bead making is all about creativity, you must be creative to maintain bead making.

Bead making is divided into parts which are:
Raw Material Production- --this parts of bead production deals with producing the beads with chemicals or objects, for example the traditional beads are made with chemicals while other beads are made with objects such as wood, plastic as mentioned in the beginning of this post.

Semi-Finished Product--- I call it semi-finished product, this involve the producing or making of things with the already made beads. Things like bag, purse, belt and many more.

The Finished Product—this is the finished goods or product which you have made with beads and now ready for use or sale.
